About College:  Dr. John Matthai Centre , popularly known as JMC, is a satellite centre of University of Calicut. It is situated at Laloor, a suburban Village five Kilometers away from the heart of Trichur, the cultural capital of Kerala. The 18 acres of land abound with greenery, where the JMC is housed belonged to Dr. John Matthai, the legendary Hero and one of India’s most famous sons. Dr. John Matthai’s decision to donate this property made possible posthumously only through his wife late Achamma Matthai to start a Centre for Teaching and Research in Economics. As such the Department of Economics was established on the campus in 1976.
